Cancellation Policy

BEFORE THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THE POLICY
AFTER THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THE POLICY

Our system does not store credit or debit card data for security, but each policy has a payment transaction number. In case of cancellation, our system will use the transaction number to request a refund to the card or account used to pay for the insurance policy. IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO WRITE DETAILS OF YOUR CARD OR ACCOUNTS in the cancellation request.

After requesting the refund from the bank, the refund may take up to 7 business days to appear on your statement. The days depend on your bank.

If you do not receive an email from service@bestmex.com after two days of requesting the cancellation, please call us: (972) 719-4008 Monday through Friday between 9 am and 6 pm Central Time.

You can request the cancellation of your Mexican Tourist Auto Insurance Policy under any of the following conditions (B) or (A) that are detailed below:

(B) – BEFORE THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THE POLICY

Under this condition, you can receive a 100% refund of the amount you paid for your policy, as long as we received the request with the required information before the effective date of the policy in one of the following 3 ways:

WAY #1) At BestMex.com, following the next steps:

  1. You must first be logged in to your account at BestMex.com
    1. If you are not logged in, select the option My Account Login
    2. Use the phone number or email registered in BestMex.com to Login and continue.
    3. If you are already logged in to your account, select My Account
  2. On the “My account” page, select the option [Cancel Policy].
  3. Select the policy you want to cancel if you have several policies.
  4. Review the policy data and select [Request a Cancellation]
  5. Write down and keep the reference # our system will provide.
  6. We will send you the final transaction number to the email address registered in your account at BestMex.com after the cancellation.

WAY #2) Sending an email to service@bestmex.com, fulfilling the following requirements:

  1. The request must be sent to service@bestmex.com from the email address that is registered in the account that was used to purchase the policy you wish to cancel.
  2. In the request you must include the following information:
    1. The policy number you wish to cancel.
    2. Brief description of the reason or reasons for the cancellation.
    3. Name and contact's telephone number.
  3. We will send you the final transaction number to the email address registered in your account at BestMex.com after the cancellation.

WAY #3) Sending a fax to 1 (888)329-6942, fulfilling the following requirements:

  1. You must send your request to the US fax number 1 (888)329-6942.
  2. In the request, you must include the following information:
    1. The policy number you wish to cancel.
    2. Brief description of the reason or reasons for the cancellation.
    3. Name and signature of the insured.
    4. Contact's telephone number.
  3. After sending the fax, you must call us at tel. (972) 719-4008 on business hours to confirm we received the fax.
  4. We will send you the final transaction number to the email address registered in your account at BestMex.com after the cancellation.

(A) – AFTER THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THE POLICY

When we receive the request for cancellation after the effective date of the policy, we cannot guarantee a refund since it depends on the time elapsed since the effective date of the policy, the number of days of coverage in the policy, the terms /rates of the insurer, and one of the following two reasons:

  1. You no longer require the insurance, and you do not need coverage for another vehicle:
    In this case, we can NOT cancel on a prorated basis; therefore, upon receiving your request, our first step will be to issue a quote for a similar policy but only for the used days to deduct the cost of that policy. If there is a difference in your favor, we will issue a refund. This type of request must be sent by the WAY #2 or WAY #3 described above.
  2. Change of vehicle:
    If the reason is that you no longer need coverage for the vehicle described on the current policy, but you need coverage for another car. We could request an exception from the insurer to cancel your policy on a prorate basis to refund the net premium of the non-used days, under the following conditions and steps:
    1. To request the exception for the pro-rata cancellation and then be able to give you a partial refund, you must first purchase a long-term policy (6 or 12 months) at BestMex.com by selecting the same insurer, that is currently covering the policy you wish to cancel.
    2. In this case, the prorated cancellations will be calculated and processed on the new policy's effective date.
    3. The request must be sent by the WAY #2 or WAY #3 described above.
    4. After receiving your request, we will send you the calculation of the amount to be reimbursed to the email address registered in your account at BestMex.com.
    5. We will send you the final transaction number to the email address registered in your account at BestMex.com after the cancellation.

Please note that you could purchase the Mexico tourist auto insurance policy for days up to a year. The rates used on long-term policies (6 or 12 months) have a big discount; in such a case, the policies for specific days will use the daily rate, so that the cost of covering specific days could be more than a policy with coverage for 6 or 12 months (semi-annual or annual rate).

We suggest submitting your request on business days (Monday through Friday) and during office hours (9 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST); otherwise, we will process your request until the next business day. Together with the insurer, we analyze if the current policy can be subject to cancellation based on the guidelines mentioned above. We will send you the answer to the email address registered in your account at BestMex.com within the next 24 hours.
